I cannot quite put my finger on it, but I am very proud to be part of the Tufts family. Maybe it is going the extra mile or staying connected on a more personal level. ![]() This singular interaction - in addition to a string of others across the years - confirms that the 'school on the hill' is an atypical institution. My professors and coursework have really changed my mind about the world and service. Tufts was a very, very special place for me. "While the Tufts Daily is struggling tremendously in these tough times, we try to support all of those who need it." This was such a small thing, but it really warmed my heart. ![]() The Business Development manager wrote me the nicest note saying that one of their advertisers pulled out last minute and his managing board agreed to publish a full-page ad for Indicorps the next day free of charge. "With apologies, we do not offer discounted rates for NGOs." "Sir, we cannot process your request." Then, a few days back I receive a mail from the Tufts Daily (the student paper of my Alma mater). Right away the answers were not looking so good. Last week, I decided to write to a few college newspapers and see if we could get pro bono ad space in their dailies. This entails writing emails to all one's contacts, posting things on facebook, organizing events, uploading fellowship descriptions to, career sites, etc. Right now we are in the throes of outreach for the August 2010 class of the Indicorps Fellowship. Vielleicht Kleinigkeiten sind am wichtigsten.
